BENEFITING: TEAM RED WHITE & BLUE
EVENT DATE: Oct 30, 2016
As the wife of a Marine Veteran, my eyes were opened not only to the challenges our veterans face, but also the assets they are to society. Unfortunately, they are not given an easy transition into civilian life. That's where Team Red, White, and Blue comes into play. We provide athletic, social, and leadership opportunities within the community for our Veterans to empower them, and give them the skills they need to combat PTSD and issues with transitioning. We are comprised of community members and Veterans alike. I'll never forget my first experience with Team RWB. It was my first mud run, I was 6 weeks post-op from a major post-weight loss surgery, and they ensured I didn't finish alone. I had fun, I felt supported, and it was a judgment-free zone. Now, whenever I go to races, my Red RWB shirts automatically grants me a supportive community that has my back. If that's provided for me as a civilian, imagine the things we can do for a veteran. So, now it's my turn to give back. After 110lbs lost, and running saving my life, I am training for the Marine Corp Marathon. This is a dream as a Marine Veteran wife, and it will be one of my biggest dreams come true. Every dime of your donation goes to supporting our veterans, and a lot of them will be running the MCM alongside me. Thank you for your support!!!
