BENEFITING: SAMARITANS OF NEW YORK INC

Some time after the disappearance of our friend Brandyn Simmons in November of 2014, I got involved with a great charity and organization called Samaritans. Samaritans is a great charity that runs a 24/7 suicide hotline, free group conseling, and help for those in need of help dealing with depression and suicide.
On September 24th, we're doing a 5K walkathon to raise money and awareness.
Even though we don't know if Brandyn is alive or dead, in thought of him I've named the team after Brandyn.
All are welcome to join the team in the walkathon.
And are welcome to help raise donations for Samariatans.
Send me a message if any questions.
Join us Sunday, September 24 for our 5th Annual 'BE A FRIEND' 5K Walkathon to support Samaritans Suicide Prevention Center's work to help New Yorkers who are in distress and suicidal, and save lives.
NYC's only community-based organization devoted to preventing suicide, Samaritans operates NYC's 24-hour suicide hotline, support groups that provide solace to those touched by suicide, and education programs that teach health providers how to help those who are depressed and in crisis.
Whenever a person in distress feels overwhelmed and needs a place to turn, needs someone to talk to--Samaritans is there!
Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the US and 1 out of 5 Americans experience depression each year! Though most of us know someone who struggles with problems related to mental health, trauma or a significant loss, very few people make charitable donations to prevent suicide.
So please support my efforts--and those of Samaritans over-100 caring volunteers and friends--to help Samaritans meet the increasing need in NYC for suicide prevention and crisis response services. It is a wonderful organization literally doing life-saving work. Every donation is 100% tax-deductible.
