On Saturday, October 1, 2016, Meredith and I will join Team World Animal Protection and run the Hamptons Half Marathon. Now it has been a long time since we have run anything close to that distance, but this is such a great cause that we are going to suck it up and do it.
World Animal Protection is the only international animal welfare organization with General Consultative Status with the United Nations. From helping governments to humanely manage dog populations and to vaccinate against rabies, instead of culling dogs; to preventing working animals from being overworked and abused; to campaigning for better treatment of factory farmed animals - the world’s biggest animal welfare issue; to responding to natural disasters and rendering aid to millions of animals; to stopping the suffering of wild animals and the threat of cruelty and abuse to bears, elephants, marine mammals such as whales and dolphins, and animals traded as exotic pets. By supporting World Animal Protection, you can help to keep wild animals safe and wild.
And by treating animals well we see people’s health improve, climate change positively effected, and the biodiversity of our planet protected.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
