It is of no surprise that Maria Grazia Chiuri's destiny led her to co-lead one of the most important luxury fashion houses, Valentino. Born and raised in Rome, it only fits that she now makes up one half of the dynamic design duo now at the helm of the house. Together with creative director partner Pierpaolo Piccioli they have created a new stylistic approach for the Maison, no mean feat considering the enduring legacy of the house’s predecessor, Mr.Valentino Garavani. Maria Grazia studied at the European Institute of Design in Rome and then joined Valentino in 1999. Now Maison Valentino is on a new path with both Maria Grazia and Pierpaolo leading the Maison in a new stylistic direction one that is both modern but yet respectful to the past.
“It’s about women getting on the road together and raising money for charity” this is the Cash & Rockets key catch phrase and sums up the reasons I decided to get involved. As a woman, a mother and a career woman I understand the importance of solidarity amongst women. I know firsthand how women at home and in the workplace have to give that extra mile to get where they are going. Cash & Rocket combines a group of women from all different industries, cultures and age groups but yet we all have a common goal to help raise money for charity and to support each other throughout the tour.
