I'm running the 2013 Boston Marathon on Team BMC (Boston Medical Center) and I couldn't be more excited!
I've run the Boston Marathon before, as a bandit, which means I didn't have a number, but this year, I'm going to be official, and the idea of running one of the most historic races in our country with a number is thrilling!
The best part of all of this: I'm raising money for a great cause! Every Saturday morning, I'll wake up early and pound the pavement for miles with a bunch of teams preparing for Boston. On the other days of the week, I'll do shorter runs, and lots of hills and strength training. I'm braving the cold weather and icy sidewalks for people who need the programs and services that the Boston Medical Center provides.
Here are some of the programs these guys are known for: The Kids Fund, Cancer Support Services Fund, the Preventive Food Pantry and Demonstration Kitchen, Nutrition and Fitness for Life, and so many more! They also have the largest 24-hour Level I trauma center in New England. The Emergency Department had 131,288 visits last year.
So help me reach my goals so I can help the people at BMC reach theirs! Please donate, share my page, and spread the word to your business, friends, family, and co-workers.
