I never thought this Marathon Fundraiser could go this far and I am so humbled and grateful to everyone who has supported me. I have put a new goal to reach $2000- only to see how far we can go in raising money for AADAP's services! I am very thankful for the outpouring of generosity that I have seen from all of you! Thank you again!
Mar 9 UPDATE:
THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME REACH MY ORIGINAL GOAL OF $1000! NOW HELP ME REACH $1500!!!
When I reach $1500, I am supposed to be reimbursed for my training and registration cost which is a total of $260! If you help me reach $1500 I'll donate that money back! so I will raise $1760+ for this worthy charity!
THERE'S STILL TIME TO DONATE! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!
I'm running a marathon for the first time and have committed to raising resources for the Asian American Drug Abuse Program (AADAP).....my goal is $1000 by March 18, 2012 when I will run 26.2 miles for the LA Marathon.
Training for the marathon has been an incredible journey and I've created valuable friendships with my teammates. Waking up early on Saturday morning to run for hours at a time has been extremely difficult, but at the end of each run I feel more confident and triumphant. I'll be remembering all the training runs and experiences with every step I take during the marathon.
All the money I raise will go towards supporting very important programs in our communities that help low-income families dealing with substance abuse and provide a second chance for many who have hit rock bottom. It'll also support services for at-risk youth, helping them to succeed and find a better path in life than one that leads to addiction.
I'll be thinking about everyone who supports me as I cross the finish line. To help me raise vital funds for AADAP, hit the orange DONATE button on the right or send your support to:
2900 S. Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90016 (payable to AADAP)
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at email@example.com.
ASIAN AMERICAN DRUG ABUSE PROGRAM INC wrote -
The AADAP Marathon Program (AMP) is the official marathon team for the Asian American Drug Abuse Program (AADAP), a 501(c)3 non-profit providing critical recovery services to low-income and under-served individuals in the greater Los Angeles area.
For almost 40 years, AADAP has been offering residential and outpatient treatment and prevention programs to people of all walks of life, and from all communities in Southern California, while also offering culturally appropriate treatment to clients who are Asian American. Substance abuse continues to be on the rise, even more so during a recession. Fortunately, there are non-profit, community-based organizations like AADAP that are there to offer the support that some people may not have, and offering counseling and treatment so that they can return to living drug-free, productive lives in recovery.
With your help, we hope to raise $30,000 to support programs that change lives and save families.
