This year I will be riding 25 miles in the Tour De South Shore. It is a fundraising bike ride for the McCourt Foundation that will start and finish at Wompatuck State Park and travel through the towns of Hingham, Cohasset, Scituate and Norwell. This is not a race, but rather a great way to support much needed research for Alzheimer’s and Multiple Sclerosis.
For more information on the McCourt Foundation please visit their website at http://www.mccourtfoundation.org/.
The day before Thanksgiving 2012 the right side of my body from mid torso down went numb. I had no idea what was going on with my body. The numbness lasted for 3 weeks to the day. After a few months of test after test, I was told in Feb 2013 that I have MS. I had NO idea what MS actually was. After plenty of research I was shocked and scared to the core that I had this. For the first couple of weeks, I was thinking about what my life would be like when I get older as I was only 33. Would I be able to dance with my sons at their weddings, and how bad will this get? But I made a promise to myself, I will try my best to not think of the what if's, but rather what can I do to help find a cure and BEAT this?
So please help create a world free of MS and Alzheimer's! To donate, please click the link below. http://www.crowdrise.com/teamabbypark/fundraiser/jillmahady
