Team Rwanda Cycling has been working in Rwanda since 2006. It has been a monumental decade for Rwandan cycling. Where once there were no organized races, no culture of cycling, no future for cyclists in Rwanda, today Rwanda is a nation passionate about cycling.
Rwanda boasts a strong local cycling race series, the Rwanda Cycling Cup and internationally, they have the most successful UCI AfricaTour race on the continent, the Tour of Rwanda, which just completed it's 8th year! The country is cycling crazy!
But the future of the sport depends on you! There are more young men and women looking to follow in the pedal strokes of their heroes, people like Adrien Niyonshuti. In 2006 we were five...today, we could be 500, all we're lacking is the financial support.
Every day a young boy or girl comes to the Africa Rising Cycling Center and asks to join our camps, the local races, or to be tested. They see cycling as a way to support their families and to receive an education on and off the bike. They want to see the world. They want to have a profession to feed their families and to send brothers and sisters to school.
Cycling is their opportunity! This opportunity is equal for both boys and girls....they youth of today in Rwanda can literally change the face of cycling in the world in the next generation. YOU just need to help us get there!
