Hello Family and Friends!
In two weeks, on Sunday March 22,2015 I will be running my first half marathon on behalf of my patient Alejandro to beat Wolfram Syndrome. Wolfram Syndrome is a genetic disosrder that is a chronic progressive mitochondrial disease that leads to diabetes, kidney problems, and slowly robs people of their sight and hearing... unless we find a cure. As his physician I can treat his symptoms but I can't cure his disease. Taking care of Alejandro and getting to know his family has truly been an honor and priviledge. If you all could meet them you would understand why it means so much not only to this family, but all the other children who suffer from Wolfram Syndrome. Simply put, knowing them makes you want to be a better person. Besides, you, know it takes A LOT to get this "tortuga" to run. I don't want anything for my birthday, Christmas, etc this year except for you to help sponser Team Alejandro!
Joining me run this year will be my college buddy Pat Ma, who joined me last year running the relay marathon. What a way to celebrate 32 years of friendship and celebrate hitting the half century mark!
Go Team Alejandro!
