This summer I will be returning to Daraja Academy for the second year in a row, but before I go I want to begin helping the Daraja community. Myself and a few of my peers will be running in the Bay to Breakers Race in San Francisco. While we are running in America the eager girls of Daraja will be running the same distance in Kenya. I cannot explain how passionate, happy, and confident the girls of Daraja are. The girl who I am running the race for Alice T. is from Nanyuki, Kenya where she has 6 siblings and throughout her life her parents have alawys struggled to feed them. Despipte having to gon to primary school on an empty stomach most of the time she says that she never let that stop her from learning. If Alice T. was not able to get a scholarship to Daraja she would be working as a house girl to help her parents take care of her younger siblings. At Daraja Academy Alice enjoys studying, playing volleyball, and has dreams of being an accountant. Please help me help her and the other girls of Daraja to raise money and awareness about the girls of Daraja.
