BENEFITING: HOPE RUNS
Put a kid through college. Change the course of a life.
I met Antony Ritho while volunteering at an orphanage in Kenya with the nonprofit Hope Runs. He was a senior in high school, bright, quiet, unassuming. I ran with the kids after school and taught a composition class, and while Antony was a pretty good runner, he was one of my best students, asking questions and turning in extra assignments for feedback. When I heard that after graduating near the top of his class and leaving the orphanage, he was living with his aunt and struggling to find work, I committed to raising $25,000 to put Antony through college as part of Hope Run’s scholarship program. Antony started Kenya Methodist University in May 2011, and is pursuing a degree in business and information technology. His continued enrollment depends on whether I can raise the funds to keep him there--please help! Rather than having your money go to a general fund, this is a chance to know the person you have helped--your donation has a direct, significant, and lasting impact on the life a rural Kenyan boy and his family.

Why 25K? Depending on exchange rate, his college is about $5,100/year (average for Kenya), which includes tuition, room and board, and transportation.
