As many of you know, Augie came into my life a little over a month ago. I was on facebook looking at the Wood County Humane Society's page, and saw an adoption post for a male Maltese. The instant I saw the post, I was in love! The next day I went to meet him and filled out an application on the spot.
Augie was a surrender case, and when he came to the WCHS he had some pretty severe skin problems. I took him to my vet and they told me that they would attempt to treat Augie's condition, but couldn't make any promises that his skin issues could ever be fully resolved . At that time, my vet also told me that I couldn't bring Augie home until his skin improved (he didn't want to risk Lily-Moo (my other pup) getting sick).
As part of his treatment, Augie needed to take two different types of medication, three times a day. Because he was staying at the WCHS, and not in my home, the task of medicating Augie fell upon the staff of WCHS...and let me tell you, they did a TREMENDOUS job. After just two weeks of staying at WCHS, and being under their care, Augie's skin issues were completely resolved. Finally, he was healthy and happy, and I could bring him back to my house, his forever home.
I cannot begin to thank WCHS enough for all their hard work, and for the care they exercised when watching over Augie. Raising money for this event is my attempt to provide some sort of quantifiable "thanks" for everything they've done.
Please consider donating, any amount, to this organization. Your money will be used to help dogs just like Augie :)
