We are passionate about providing innovative, arts-in-medicine supportive care programs for children coping with serious illness, their families and the health care providers who care for them.
Since March 2005, we have been working diligently to transform the treatment experience for children and teens coping with chronic, life threatening illness through our arts-in-medicine programs. Through Beads of Courage, children and teens are able to tell their story using colorful beads as meaningful symbols of courage that commemorate milestones they have achieved along their unique treatment path.
In just 6 years since our inception, our organization has established our programs in over 90 children's hospitals in the United States, New Zealand and Japan. Our growth is evidence of the need for the type of support Beads of Courage provides for children and teens coping with serious illness.
We would love for you to join TEAM Beads of Courage! You can setup your own fundraising page with your story as to why you are passionate about Beads of Courage and share it with everyone you know! That's the cool thing about Crowdrise, they make it really fun and easy to share!
Ideas for fundraising for Beads of Courage could be:
You've got a birthday coming up
You're participating in a race as an individual
In honor or in memory of a loved one
The ideas are endless, we can't wait to see our team grow!
I've created a page, now what?
Once you get your page all setup, we would love for you to hop over to officially join TEAM BEADS OF COURAGE. If you are a cyclist, click on the cycling button. If you're a runner, click on the running button, and if you're not needing a super wicking shirt and just want a super awesome Beads of Courage cotton tshirt, we're creating a new package just for you (check back with us in a few days). If you don't need a shirt, but want to carry beads as an intentional act of kindness for a child or teen with serious illness, just click TEAM Bead Kit Only.
give HOPE, honor COURAGE..CARRY A BEAD!
