BENEFITING: Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation
ORGANIZER: Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation
I am honored to be part of Team Bear, running the Chicago Marathon to benefit children with cancer. The Chicago Marathon was my own very first marathon in 2003, and I am excited to re-visit this wonderful course now 10 years later!
There are so many things about this experience that are special to me, but let me tell you about my top two. First, I will be running with my brother Chris, who has just recenly found a new love for running and will be running his very first marathon at Chicago! While running is not my first sport, nor has it always been my favorite activity, I have learned to love running over the past 5 years, and I am so happy to be sharing this activity now with my siblings!
This brings me to the second special quality of this experience - Chris introduced me to Team Bear, and I am thankful to be running to raise money that furthers my dream that all children can grow up healthy enough to love running or another activity. I hope that my own son (Joey, just 5 years old) never feels the fear, pain, and sadness associated with cancer. I hope all children who have been touched by cancer may find good health, hope, optimism, and positive results through hard work; qualities I also associate with Team Bear.
I want to help Team Bear change the world for kids with cancer - please help us change the world for the smallest among us!
Your support is greatly appreciated!
