BENEFITING: CONNECTICUT ADVOCATES FOR PARKINSONS INC
EVENT DATE: Sep 12, 2015
Hi everyone, Celeste and I are going to "Climb for a Cause" and hike Mount Washington on September 12, 2015, and we hope to raise $10k for the Connecticut Advocates for Parkinsons's (CAP) http://www.parkinsonsct.org.
Why a hike? Over the last few years Celeste and I have enjoyed going for hikes and exploring new places. We had an awesome experience when we hiked some of the National Parks out west. This year we decided to climb Mt Washington, but thought by doing so we can help an organization out such as CAP.
About CAP: CAP is a local nonprofit organization that helps people with Parkinson's. It is a local support group that meets monthly where people can learn how to manage the disease better. They have Parkinson's treatment specialists come in to speak to educate, and programs that provide quality of life enhancements, such as "PD specific" exercise programs. It is also a place where the family, caregivers, and the person with PD can learn how to live with the disease.
The money raised will be used for general operating cost, help members with transportation needs, participate in clinical trials and many other expenses.

We need your help in raising as much money as possible, and we will keep you updated on our progress with videos, pics, and details in "Our Story" section. Every donation counts and is tax deductible, so please spread the word and help us fundraise for this great cause. My brother Pete will be helping us get ready for this hike. He is a personal trainer at Litchfield Athletic Club.
