For those of you who may not be familiar, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is located in the heart of Longwood Medical Area, in Boston MA. BIDMC is a major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School which provides adult services ranging from cardiology to obstetrics, gastrointestional disorders to cancer care. Here in Boston, and it's surrounding communities, we are recognized for leading edge clinical excellence, renowned expertise in minimally invasive surgery, thriving medical research, as well as an expansive network of affiliated community hospitals and physician practices.
BIDMC and the Grateful Nation Boston Marathon Team are committed to raising awareness of health care bias and promoting health equality in our communities. Healthy Champions is an interactive program designed to create a way for economically disadvantaged young people to become ambassadors of health within their own families, schools, and the community. The Healthy Champions Program collaborates with neighborhood children teaching the importance of overall wellness, disease prevention, and encourages leadership among fellow peers, families, and neighbors, to prefer a healthy way of living.
On April 15th, I will be running the Boston Marathon in support of BIDMC. Two kids, and a few years later, this run may be a bit more difficult than previous, but I am focused, motivated, and dedicated. I understand for many times are tough, and a donation in any amount will be GREATLY appreciated. If you can, please consider a gift to this campaign which can be done by clicking the “Donate” button above. Thank you SO much in advance- Jen
