I am so excited to be running the Boston Marathon and fundraising for cancer research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center! For the past year and a half, I have been working in one of BIDMC's cancer research labs and have seen all of the amazing work that is being done here. The fusion vaccine that my lab has developed is improving the outcome of many patients with myeloma, leukemia and other cancers. It is so inspiring meeting the patients that our vaccine is helping, and it is so amazing to see how all of the doctors, nurses, researchers, and other workers in the hospital are so devoted to the patients. I know that all of the money I raise will go directly to the support of cancer patients at BIDMC, and I am so excited to be helping such inspiring people.
In addition to being motivated to run for the cancer patients at BIDMC, I am personally excited to be running the marathon because after my knee surgery three years ago, I was not sure if I would ever be able to run such a long distance. Running has always been one of my favorite activities and my hiatus from all the craziness in life. Not being able to run for many months was very distressing, and it will be so great to prove to myself that I have fully recovered and am able to run the Boston Marathon.
I hope that you will consider supporting my fundraising efforts and help me reach my fundraising goal of $7,500. The research that is occuring at BIDMC is truly ground-breaking, and with your support, it can continue benefitting patients around the nation.
Thank you so much!!
