Over the past few years, there have been so many changes for me personally and professionally and I have learned to find peace, strength and confidence through running. I started running 4 years ago and I never dreamed I would be afforded the opportunity to be part of a truly inspirational journey like running the 119th Boston Marathon. The training is grueling, hard and mother-nature has not been on my side but I continue to push forward and remain focused and dedicated to achieving this goal.
I am honored to be part of such a prestigious organization and will participate with 51 dynamic individuals representing TEAM BIDMC. The sense of unity and team spirit this group has provided is like nothing I have ever experienced.
I’m asking to help me raise $7,500.00 to support my fundraising goal. All contributions will support the brilliant researchers at BIDMC working towards learning how variants of APOL1 damage the kidneys and how to block this effect. This research will play a critical role into providing better care for patients across the world with kidney disease. As we all know it truly takes a village to get anywhere in life. Whether its $5.00 or $500.00, it truly will make a difference! I’m calling on all of you as my champions to help me cross that finish line!
And I leave you with one of my favorite quotes: “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen”—Michael Jordan
