Dear Family and Friends,
Fifteen years ago this April, I lost my mom to a sudden heart attack.
On April 15th 2013 I will be running the Boston marathon to raise $5,000 for Boston Medical Center’s Cardiology Department and to honor the memory of my mom. On April 9th, 1997 my mom Lynda died of a sudden heart attack. She was only 51 years old and while her father had died the same way at 52, she had never seen a cardiologist.
Some of my earliest memories involve my mother running. My mom wasn’t the road racing or triathlon type of runner, however she was always running into a TJMaxx, or perhaps the 3rd Marshalls of the day. She would run out, at break neck speed, to grab groceries for the impromptu dinner for 12 that she would serve up only hours later. My mom was a champion runner!
I wake up every day before 5 to hit the pavement. When I get home Henry and Libby always greet me with “How many miles today mom? 10? 15? 20? Wow! Now can you make us a snack?’
Because of heart disease Henry and Libby will never know their grandmother.
15 years ago the Doctors never suggested my mom see a Cardiologist. Tremendous strides have been made since then, yet there are still many miles to go. Please join me in honoring my mom, 15 years later, in raising some money for The Boston Medical Center’s Cardiology Department. I have
Thank you very much for your generosity and support.
