Another sweet girl scheduled to die because of no fault of her own. Brenda came to us by way of a high kill shelter in South Carolina. Suffering from Pneumonia, Brenda was in very bad shape when we received her. After a few weeks of costly treatment, was on the road to recovery only to suffer another setback as we found out she tested positive for heartworm.
Heartworm is a common disease in dogs and is so easily prevented through monthly medication. Transmitted by a single mosquito bite, the disease can take months to manifest and by the time it is discovered, the dog can be in serious distress. Without treatment, dogs will eventually die as the worms do permanent and painful damage to the body and internal organs.
Work up and treatment can run thousands of dollars. Brenda is worth every penny but we need your help in getting us to the finish line. Between her Pneumonia and now heartworm we are hoping to raise $3,000 which should cover all of her medical bills. Every cent will go toward her care and your help in our meeting this challenge is very appreciated.
Go team BRENDA!
