Greetings Family & Friends!
Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page! I am so excited to be returning for my third season with BvB Dallas and honored to be serving for the second year as the Team Brunette Event Chair.
So you may be wondering why for the third year in a row I have decided to dedicate 10 weeks of my summer to play powder-puff football in the grueling Texas heat, and raise $3000 for charity. In 1994, my grandmother, Mildred Schroeder, passed away from natural causes. However, in her last few weeks of life, dementia began to set in. She no longer recognized her children or grand-children. Conversations were difficult to hold and her memories were lost.
Like my grandmother, one in three Seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or a related form of dementia. I play for my teammates who have lost parents and grandparents to this awful disease. I play for my parents, and my friends parents, so that if they are affected we will have found a cure.
Over the past 8 years, BvB Dallas has raised $2.3 Million for Alzheimer’s Disease Research & Awareness. This year, we are honored to fund research at the Baylor AT&T Memory Center, The Center for Vital Longevity at the University of Texas at Dallas, and the Alzheimer’s Disease Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
With your help, my goal is to raise $3,000 in just 10 short weeks. No donation is too small, so please consider skipping that extra Starbucks, or Red Bull-Vodka at the bar this week to help us find a cure. A $25 donation gets you a ticket to watch Team Brunette take on Team Blonde in the Cotton Bowl on Saturday, August 13th.
As events chair, I also invite you to join us for all of our events taking place around Dallas this summer:
-BvB Kick-Off Party—Saturday, June 14th
-BvB Benefit Concert — Thursday, June 16th
-Luau Pool Party – Saturday, June 25th
-Neon Pool Party – Saturday, July 23rd
