BENEFITING: BRAIN TUMOR FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: BRAIN TUMOR FOUNDATION
It is terrible to see someone suffer through illness or pain. We immediately want to do all we can to alleviate their suffering and to bring them comfort.
Writing for The Brain Tumor Foundation for the past few years, I have often been inspired by the tales of triumph and courage – both from the patients as well as from their family and friends – some of whom lost their loved ones in the end.
It is for this reason that I am running this year’s NYC Marathon in honor of all those who have battled a brain tumor – and all those still enduring the fight.
ABOUT THE BRAIN TUMOR FOUNDATION
Team BTF is proud to be participating in the ING New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 6, 2011. Please help us raise awareness and funds.
The Brain Tumor Foundation (BTF) guides and supports patients and families during the turbulent times when their lives are touched by a brain tumor.
The Road to Early Detection campaign, an initiative of BTF, was launched to increase public awareness about early screening for brain tumors and the urgent need for preventative brain scans by offering free MRI brain scans throughout New York City. With the impending national expansion of this campaign, BTF will offer free and affordable brain scans coast to coast, further extending the message of early detection. For updates on the national expansion, visit www.roadtoearlydetection.org.
To date early detection and complete removal is the best known method of treating deadly tumor growth.
Funds raised will go directly to The Road to Early Detection campaign.
