About My Mission:
Hi everyone! Thank you for your interest in donating to this cause. I'm running my first marathon this year in honor of the members of my family whom we've lost to brain tumors: my cousin Ryan Weiss, my grandmother Hilda Weiss, and my aunt Esther Bergman.
My goal is modest and I hope you can join me in supporting the cause of awareness and early treatment of brain tumors. Even a $10 contribution would be more than enough. For a $20 donation, you get a chance to enter a pretty sweet raffle! (see below)
Thank you, and please keep up with my progress on Facebook and Twitter!
Anyone who has donated $20 or more to BTF will be automatically entered into a raffle to win a choice of one of the following awesome prizes:
1. For the geeks: a brand, spankin' new Kindle Fire HD. http://amzn.to/No5YGR
2. For the athletic types: pair of brand, spankin' new Nike Lunarglides. http://bit.ly/U7wC54
3. For anyone else: a party, DJ'd by me, at the place and time of your choosing.
Make your donations here before it's too late!
The Brain Tumor Foundation (BTF) guides and supports patients and families during the turbulent times when their lives are touched by a brain tumor. The Road to Early Detection campaign, and initiative of BTF, was launched to increase public awareness about early screening for brain tumors and the urgent need for preventative brain scans.
More than half of the people diagnosed with brain tumors could be saved if brain scans were regarded to be as essential as mammograms or routine blood tests. We have grown accustomed to routinely checking for breast, colon, prostate and other cancers – why not brain tumors?
Possibly half of all brain tumor patients could have their tumors successfully removed if they were detected early, before physical symptoms become apparent. Early detection and complete removal is the best known method of treating deadly tumor growth.
Funds raised will go directly to the expansion of
The Road to Early Detection campaign.
EARLY DETECTION + RESEARCH = CURE
