BENEFITING: FRIENDS OF THE VERONA STREET ANIMAL SHELTER
I'm running in memory of Sammy, a wheelin dealin rescue pup who is a leading example of why organizations such as Verona Street are so important. Sammy knew no other life than being chained outside. There he spent FOUR years with his back legs paralyzed - every day was constant pain and suffering for him. Sammy was rescued by compassionate people dedicated to giving him a second chance at life. After much time spent the vet, Sammy was cleaned up, cared for and left with a new set of wheels. He was transported to New York where he lived the remainder of his life filled with love and affection by his Mom, Wendy. Sammy had a few scares over the years but he was triumphant, overcoming so many obstacles - he had a new passion for life. He was a certified therapy dog, and spent many of his days at his Mom's daycare center greeting the kids. He made such an impact on people during his life and his legacy will continue on - please donate in Sammy's honor!
