Wildflower Triathlon - 1 Week To Go!
April 22, 2016
August 2014 my father was diagnosed with cancer and has since been fighting this disease. Luckily he still survives. Initially I struggled with the news and found running as an avenue to vent my stress. Living in San Francisco but with all my family back in Ireland presented an added challenge, leaving me feeling often somewhat helpless.
In the last quarter of 2015 I ran two half marathons, not for charity but to challenge myself. Although for me this was a big achievement I now feel that I could have made better use of the events by helping raise money for charitable organizations. Not to repeat this mistake, I signed myself up for the Wildflower triathlon (Olympic distance) as a new personal goal and as a part of the Team Cancer Sucks, raising money for the Lazarex Cancer Foundation.
The Wildflower Triathlon takes place May 1, 2016 in central California. Please support me in my triathlon attempt with Team Cancer Sucks by donating.
