BENEFITING: Childrens Alopecia Project
ORGANIZER: Childrens Alopecia Project
EVENT DATE: May 05, 2013
I am reaching out to you to ask you to donate to a wonderful charity that has been very supportive of my daughter Maeve and our family. Maeve was diagnosed with Alopecia when she was four years old. We found "CAP" AKA Children's Alopecia Project about a year later. CAP is devoted specifically to children living with the incurable autoimmune hair loss disease, Alopecia. The Mission of CAP is to help any child in need who is living with hair loss due to all forms of alopecia. They build self-esteem, provide support and raise awareness, so that our CAP Kids can grow in confidence and become stronger teens and productive adults.
This organization has made a real difference in our lives since then, and I want to help them continue to assist other kids dealing with this disease. The money I am raising will enable Childrens Alopecia Project to continue to run their summer camp for CAP kids at no cost to the child with Alopecia. Our daughter looks forward to attending every year. She has shared with us that meeting other kids "like" her has made it easier to deal with her condition. So please help me provide that same experience for other CAP kids.
You can paste this link into your browser. It's a wonderful video of the Yankees honoring CAP last year during their HOPE week. It is a little long, so if you are pressed for time you can fast forward to the 5 minute mark and watch Joe Girardi speak about our daughter. It was an amazing day that was made possbile by CAP and the Yankees.
Thank you all for your support!
