Ainsley's Angels of America is super excited to help ensure the Carroll Boys can Roll With the WIND in the comfort of their own Team Hoyt Racing Chariot!!!
Please take a moment to read this wonderful note from the boy's mom:
Let us tell you a little about our family. We are Team Carroll Boys, a team because we work together to help give our two younger sons the best quality of life facing some pretty dire circumstances. As a team we give each other hope, comfort and support as we strive to live each day to its fullest.
My husband and I have three sons and our two youngest boys (Kevin 18 and Shaun 14) have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne Muscular is a terminal muscle wasting disease for which there are no current treatments or cure. Our sons will continue to get progressively weaker as this horrible disease robs them of all their muscles. Their prognosis is not good. Aside from the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Shaun also has epilepsy, learning disabilities and an anxiety disorder and Kevin has Autism.
We try our best to include our children in everything we do. They both love to be outside and do things together as a family. We have set up this page to request funding for a special chair that our boys can use could use for walks, runs and bike rides. Neither one of our sons has ever been able to ride a bike; go for long walks (without the use of a wheelchair) nor have they have ever experienced what it is like to run. Yes run, something so simple yet something so powerful. These are things most of us do without thinking about it, but not Kevin and Shaun, this disease does not allow for that.
This chair would give us the opportunity for the boys to ride safely, securely and comfortably for walks, runs or bike rides. This chair would mean so much to our sons and it would truly give them the ability to do and see things they never been able to do before. We please ask that you consider donating as it could truly improve the quality of life for our boys. This disability chair will be bring tremendous joy to the boys for years to come, providing them with the experiences and joy that other able bodied children can already enjoy! You can help, You can make a difference.
