ORGANIZER: Casa Myrna Vazquez, Inc.
EVENT: 2013 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2013
1 in 4 women will be affected by domestic violence in her lifetime. This is something that needs to stop.
On behalf of Emerson College's Kappa Gamma Chi, I am beyond thrilled to be running my first marathon for Casa Myrna, "New England’s leading provider of shelter and comprehensive services to victims and survivors of domestic violence." As a senior Marketing Communications major at Emerson College, I am the co-chair of Emerald Empowerment, which is Kappa Gamma Chi's campaign to end domestic violence and partner abuse. Each year we raise money for Casa Myrna through a week-long series of campus-wide events; this year we are increasing our efforts by running the marathon and I couldn't be honored to represent Kappa Gamma Chi in this new endeavor!
In order to run the marathon, I have agreed to raise $5,050! While I know it is a lot, I also know that it can be done. Any contribution would be incredibly helpful and I cannot thank you enough.
