BENEFITING: Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech
EVENT DATE: Aug 11, 2013
About Team Clarke Runners:
Mary Jane Johnson MEd. LSLS Cert. AVEd.
Assistant Director, Clarke Boston
I am so excited to run the Falmouth Road Race again this year in support of Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech. Clarke helps transform the lives of deaf and hard of hearing children by teaching them the spoken language and communication skills they need to fully participate in their families, schools, and communities. The Falmouth race is a challenge --particularly the beginning with 3 steep climbs! But as I run I will think about all of the challenges our students face every day of their lives and it will help me sprint up those hills! Please join me in my support of Clarke by making a donation today!

Growing up on Cape Cod, I have participated in the Falmouth Road Race for many years. This year I am proud and excited to be running for Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech. Clarke transforms the lives of children who are deaf and hard of hearing by teaching them the spoken language and communication skills they need for fully engaged lives. Every day I see the challenges these students and parents face and I am constantly inspired and humbled by their perseverance to succeed. Running and teaching are my two greatest passions and I cannot think of a better way to support such a great cause. Please help me by making a donation to support Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech!
I am thrilled to be running my first Falmouth Road Race. I am even more excited to be running in support of Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech. Clarke has transformed the lives of children who are deaf and hard of hearing by providing them with the support and skills necessary to speak, sing, and communicate. The work that Clarke Schools does with these students is truly amazing. The challenges that these children and their families have overcome, their beautiful smiles, and the sound of their voices will all help to power me up those steep climbs. Please join me in supporting Clarke, donate today!
I am so excited to be running the Falmouth Road Race on Team Clarke this year! This will be my second Falmouth Road Race. The students and families at Clarke Schools are my motivation for the 7 miles. The determination demonstrated by the Clarke community is an amazing feat that deserves more than a 7-mile run. During training and on race day, I will strive to demonstrate the same strength and determination shown by the families and staff at Clarke. I am extremely grateful to be able to support such a worthy cause and look forward to running up that final hill to the finish line! Please join me and the rest of team Clarke in supporting a wonderful organization.
"The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a [person’s] determination." This quote symbolizes my personal fitness journey and the challenges I face. Each day, students at Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech overcome the challenges they face through commitment and determination. Clarke helps make the impossible possible. Running the Falmouth Road Race on Team Clarke represents an amazing opportunity for me to accomplish the “impossible” – something I have never done – run a 7-mile race! My commitment is to the wonderful families of Clarke Schools who face and overcome much more than a 7-mile run. They have inspired me to face my personal impossible challenge, and to overcome it! I am so humbled and proud to be a part of this organization and all it represents. Please join me in supporting Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech today!
