The consummate humanitarian, Ben decided to serve his country, in both the military and as a federal employee. A year ago, Ben was serving in Afghanistan for the Army when he was tragically killed by a suicide bomber. His legacy lives on through the ClearWater Initiative, an organization he started in 2007 to provide clean water to populations affected by natural or man-made humanitarian emergencies.
I have served on ClearWater Initiative’s Board since last year, and we are growing through the assistance of many people who are passionate about the cause. Within 10 years ClearWater will provide clean water to 250,000 people in need.
Join Team ClearWater in our efforts to raise $20,000 by October 24, 2010! On that day, I will be participating along with a group of runners and volunteers in the annual Army Ten-Miler race in Washington, DC. I am not an experienced runner but I am motivated to test myself to assist our cause and Ben’s memory.
Please consider donating -- your assistance will go far in enabling ClearWater to continue to expand its reach and help those in dire need of its services.
ClearWater does a lot with a little, so give a little or give a lot. It all makes a difference. Each of us can make a difference.
