BENEFITING: Courage Beyond

EVENT: Survival Trial 2012

EVENT DATE: Sep 29, 2012

THE STORY:

Team CRG is made up of Jason Lyon and Guy Schmidt.  They are both veterans of the Inaugural Survival Trial in 2011.

Jason Lyon

  • Age: 42
  • Occupation: Firefighter/Paramedic Billings, MT; Reserve Deputy Sheriff Yellowstone County, MT
  • Hometown: Billings, MT

Jason's hobbies include motorcycle riding, alpine skiing, hiking and shooting.  His strengths include a commitment to teamwork and the achievement of goals.  His weaknesses include that he hates PT and he admits he is a sucker of his teammate and life-long friend's antics.

Shooting Background: I have been fortunate enough to attend numerous shooting schools (including Professional Marksmen) in all disciplines of defensive and tactical and long range shooting.

Guy Schmidt

  • Age: 40
  • Occupation: Physician

Guy's hobbies include skydiving and hunting. His strengths include applying willpower and enduracne to the task at hand as well as talking others into doing ridiculous things that they would never consider on their own.  His weaknesses include the general use of good judgment.Racing Background: Inaugural Survival Trial, numerous contests in a variety of sports

Shooting Background:  Lifelong hunter and sport shooter.  I have attended numerous shooting schools including Thunder Ranch, Professional Marksmen, and those offered by Barrett and McMillan. Why We Want to Compete in the Survival Trial

Jason: I was a last minute substitution in 2011 after previously passing on the event.  Experiencing the physical and mental challenges of the Survival Trial taught me so much last year. I hope to apply those lessons this year and deliver an even better showing.

Guy: I am competing again in the 2012 Survival Trial because I didn't have enough of the crap kicked out of me in 2011; at least my friends seem to think I am still full of it.

Other pertinent information that we feel would be helpful for potential sponsors to know about us:

343 of FDNY's finest died on September 11, 2001 leading us into over a decade of sustained warfare.  It is an honor to be able to give back to those who have defended America's freedom by giving it their all.
