BENEFITING: Old St Patricks Church
ORGANIZER: Old St Patricks Church
For the second year in a row I decided to run the Chicago Marathon as part of The Crossroads Runners team in order to "Run for a Cause". By joining this team I have made a conscious decision to help raise funds for the great programs and non-profit organizations sponsored by Old St. Patrick's Church in Chicago. Now that I have one marathon under my belt, I hope this year I can put less emphasis on completing a life goal and more focus on helping my community.
Organizations sponsored by Old St. Patrick's, such as Harmony Hope and Healing, Horizons for Youth, and Career Transitions Center, assist at-risk youth, homeless and the unemployed with targeted programs, resources and service initiatives. And these programs would not be able thrive without the support of The Crossroads Runners.
An example of these organizations, Horizons for Youth, is a community committed to assisting low-income children recognize and achieve their full potential. In partnership with dedicated families, they provide need-based scholarships, one-on-one mentoring and enrichment programs for students from kindergarten until they graduate high school. A full 100% of their alumni have graduated from high school, and 80% went on to attend college
Whether it is your first or second time, please consider contributing to these organizations, and help support my "Run for a Cause".
