Keys to Degrees: Educating Two Generations Together
I have been afforded the opportunity to start an unbelievable journey to continue my life goal: To make a positive impact on people, many people and their families.
Through this fundraiser, our team will able to make a difference for potentially 2 generations at once. The individuals enrolled in the Keys to Degrees Program at Endicott College in Beverly, MA seek out the resources and opportunity to grow as students and as parents. Any and all donations will go directly to this program and the individuals enrolled. These individuals prepare to gain their own education through a 4-year bachelor's degree while developing parenting skills in safe, assisted environment..
I will be working alongside several other talented individuals to fundraise for, advocate for, educate and train our way to the finish line on Boylston Street of the 2013 Boston Marathon. All of the dollars, miles, and effort are for the students of the Keys to Degrees Program of Endicott College.
Please think about your own education and those that assisted you in your past and consider donating to a great cause to benefit great people.
From the Endicott College Undergraduate Course Catalog:
In an effort to make a difference in the lives of these young men and women, Endicott College has developed Keys to Degrees: Educating Two Generations Together, a program that puts a baccalaureate degree within reach for single parents who seek a better life for themselves and for their children. This comprehensive program brings educational opportunity to a largely under-served population.
Keys to Degrees was founded at Endicott College (Beverly, MA) to address a national problem - lack of educational and vocational opportunities for young single parents - one family at a time. The increasing number of children living with single parents has greatly affected family structure and the economic security of children in the United States over the past twenty years.
This year, for the first time ever, Endicott has been awarded three entries into the 2013 Boston Marathon through the John Hancock Boston Marathon Non-Profit Program. With these three entries, Endicott College's ultimate goal is to raise $15,000 towards scholarships for the Keys to Degrees Program.
With your support, we can make the power of education for these young men and women a reality - and transform lives along the way!
