BENEFITING: Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary
ORGANIZER: Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary
EVENT: 2012 Boston Marathon
Over ten years ago I had a bad accident where I destroyed my vocal chords and lost the ability to speak. At the time I lived in Nashville, TN and I was sent to Vanderbilt Hospital. After 6 reconstructive surgeries and 4 years of voice therapy at the Vanderbilt Voice Center I regained my voice and am able to lead a relatively normal (my days as the lead singer of a rock band are over :) life.
Now that I live in Boston, I couldn't think of a better way to give back than to raise money for the Mass Eye and Ear Institute. I am doing so by running the Boston Marathon this year and I am so excited and honored to have been given a spot on Team Eye and Ear.
I can personal attest to the incredible challenges that people who lose their senses face and to the amazing work of places like Mass Eye and Ear. I hope that you will support the truely life changing work that is done at Mass Eye and Ear by donating.
A little more about Mass Eye and Ear:
At Mass. Eye and Ear, our focus is your quality of life. We treat everything that has to do with the eyes, ears, nose, throat, head and neck - so that you and those you care about can get more out of the world around us.
Our physicians are more than just specialists; each is also a researcher and a teacher. These doctors don't just apply the latest advances in medicine; they invent them. Together with Mass. Eye and Ear scientists, they work tirelessly to understand the root causes of diseases that both take people's lives and rob too many others of their quality of life.
Every dollar raised makes it possible for Mass. Eye and Ear to excel in clinical care, research and medical education. That, in turn, allows us to provide the finest specialty care to every person who comes through our door and to share our knowledge in order to help patients around the world.
Thank you for your support.
