BENEFITING: Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary
ORGANIZER: Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary
EVENT: 2016 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 18, 2016
Michael is a beautiful one year old boy who was born with a severely floppy airway (laryngomalacia). He struggled with every breathe he took in and especially when he tried to coordinate breathing and feeding. Eventually, Michael underwent tracheostomy tube placement after which he has been breathing well, gaining weight, and growing. Michael's parents, Katie and Mike, have become experts in trach care for their son, and have become wonderful partners in helping other families with children needing tracheostomies both as educational resources as well as support.
Thank you for considering supporting our team run as we strive to cure Michael as well as other children both here and abroad by teaching and providing top flight multi-disciplinary care as well as by supporting novel research such as bioresorbable airwat stents and non-immunogenic larynx transplantion.
