BENEFITING: THE MAYORS FUND TO ADVANCE NEW YORK CITY
I have spent the past 23 weeks running and raising money to support NYRR's Youth Programs for children who do not have adequate physical education programs in their schools. So many people have supported my efforts and have donated to Team for Kids... and I thank you so much for that!
Now, a new cause has come up and I ask again for your help. If you have the means to donate again or if you did not have a chance to donate to Team for Kids yet, please consider donating to the Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund to help NYC get back on its feet.
On Sunday, I am running for the city I grew up in; the city I know and love. I am running through the streets of NYC to show that we can overcome this obstacle. Getting the city back to normal after Hurricane Sandy will not be easy. Running 26.2 miles will not be easy. But it can be done!
This time, I am hoping to raise $10 for every mile I plan to run on Sunday. Donation's will be sent to the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City and the Hurricane Relief Fund. It is my hope that this Sunday's Marathon will prove the resiliency of NYC and the passion of New Yorkers... I can't wait to be a part of that!
