Team Genesis fighting child slavery in Ghana
Organized by: Patrick Stark
EVENT DATE Aug 06, 2015
The trafficking of children in Ghana is a systemic problem that both the government and Non-Government Organization's are addressing. Currently it is believed that 1 in 6 children ages 5-14 are trafficked into labor and sexual slavery in Ghana. Genesis Church has partnered with the Touch a Life organization to help in the eradication of child slavery in Ghana. In August of 2015 three volunteers from Genesis Church in Phoenix, AZ are travelling to Ghana to assist with medical evaluations for children who have been rescued from slavery. It is our desire to to pursue an ongoing relationship with these children and Touch a Life to eradicate human trafficking in Ghana. We have $2,200 in funds raised, but are required to raise an additional $7,150 to cover airfare and in-country costs. The volunteer team members are paying for the required immunizations, visa's and other travel related costs.
