BENEFITING: GENTLE BARN FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Dec 11, 2011
I'm running my first half marathon, so I am putting together a project to support me while I train and to hopefully raise at least $1300 ($100 for each mile) for a cause that is very dear to me. If we reach that goal, we can shoot for higher ones.
I am running in support of THE GENTLE BARN, which is a wonderful farm sanctuary in California. Not only do they rescue animals that have been severely abused and neglected, but they also use them as vessels to help at risk youth and special needs children.
The Gentle Barn has taught many children the concepts of kindness, compassion, and respect along with how to protect the small and weak in this world who need to be protected while helping them value themselves and one another.
Animals have a healing nature about them, and have proven to nurture the children as they are being nurtured at the Barn.
The Gentle Barn is an uplifting and unique place in a world that needs nothing more than love and light.
If you want to be as touched as I have by their stories you should head on over to http://thegentlebarn.org/ to read more and see how you can help!

“The question is not, "can they reason?" nor, "can they talk?" but rather, "can they suffer?"”
I would love for you to help me, encourage me, and join me as I run by helping donate to my cause or by joining my team! The animals need us to fight for them, as they can not fight for themselves.
Thank you all for the inspiration and motivation you give me each and every day.
