Hello, friends and family -
Bottom Line was founded in 1997 to help low-income and first-generation students get in to college, graduate from college, and go far in life. Since then, Bottom Line has provided one-on-one guidance and mentoring to thousands of high school and college students. This year, they will be providing personalized support to nearly 2,000 students across Massachusetts and New York.
As a member of Bottom Line's 2012 Boston Marathon Team, I will run 26.2 miles on April 16th (plus a few hundred more during training) as a way to contribute to this incredible organization and the students it supports.
I first became involved with Bottom Line in 2006 as a member of the Leadership Committee that organizes and fundraises for Bottom Line's annual dinner. During my time at Sun Life, I helped start a summer internship program for Bottom Line students. And one year ago, I became a member of Bottom Line's Board,
The most valuable thing a kid can have is a great education. Not all kids are as fortunate as yours and mine to have a family who can support them through their college years. Bottom Line does that for these kids. It costs approximately $1,000 per year per student to provide the personalized support that Bottom Line counselors bring to students in college.
My goal is to raise at least $15,000 by running the Boston Marathon. It's been three years since I've attempted this run and this year with the support of the coach that Bottom Line has provided my goal is not only to finish but to hit a personal best of 4 1/2 hours.
Please support me and Bottom Line in this fundraising effort.
Thank you. Whatever you can contribute will help our students get in, graduate, and go far!
