"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." -- Margaret Mead
This is my favorite quote and one that originally inspired me to help found Golf Fights Cancer. with my close friend Jay Monahan. Now, ten years later, we can say that we have had some measures of success in doing just that.
I'm proud to say that we are now approaching $3 million dollars raised since GFC took its first official steps (in the 2004 Boston Marathon)! Pretty Amazing, actually - and the thanks is owed to generous donors like you, that have collectively driven and sustained our success.
We've purchased equipment, we've built playrooms and family lounge areas, we've underwritten promising, even breakthrough, research. We've provided comfort to families in need and we've provided emotional support to patients at hospitals and camps alike. In short, we - you and I, and all those involved with GFC, have made a discernable difference.
So, now, ten years later, I am still unabashed in my asking people to support Golf Fights Cancer and the vision we have for making a tangible impact in the fight against cancer. Not everyone is crazy enough to run the marathon, but anyone can help make a difference. Thank you for supporting my run, for participating in the ongoing success of GFC and for helping to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
With gratitude for your support,
