My brother, Ryan, and I are training to run the 2013 Boston Marathon. Our motivation to run the maration is grounded in our support of the wonderful organization - Golf Fights Cancer. Both Ryan and I have been impacted by cancer in a number of different ways. From our oldest brother, Shawn, being diagnosed with cancer at age 13, to multiple lost friends and relatives to the disease, as well as truly inspirational stories of survival - like our brothers. Drawing on these emotions of loss, inspirational stories and a recognition of what a minimal effort is required to complete a marathon by comparison to one's long battle with cancer, we will be highly motivated in our training as well as on race day.
We ask that you support us in our race by making a donation to Golf Fights Cancer. You can learn more about Golf Fights Cancer by visiting www.golffightscancer.org. I have been involved with GFC for several years now, playing in many of their golf events, and have observed first hand the immediate impact of GFC's efforts on cancer patients and their families.
Please support us and this worthy cause by making a donation. Let's beat this disease!
