Dear Friends & Colleagues,
On 6 November 2011 I will make my debut in the ING New York City (NYC) Marathon as part of the Grassroots Soccer (GRS) marathon team to help raise funds towards the fight against HIV/AIDS. GRS has been selected for the 3rd year as an Official Charity Partner of the ING NYC Marathon.
The 2011 GRS ING NYC Marathon Team is currently made up of a total of 65 runners. Each of us is required to fundraise between ZAR 24 000 ($3,000) and ZAR 40 000 ($5,000).
Fund raised will be donated to GRS and a South African-based HIV/Aids project to be rolled out by the 2010 FIFA Legacy team in Evaton, to assist them in providing effective HIV prevention knowledge and life skills to over 8,000 youth in South Africa and throughout Africa. I will cover my own flight costs, accommodation and meals.
HIV/AIDS in South Africa is a prominent health concern - South Africa is believed to have more people with HIV/AIDS than any other country. The number of infected is larger than in any other single country in the world.
Please help support this cause in our mission to give HIV the red card by clicking on "DONATE" at the top right of the page to sponsor a kilometre or a few I'll be running on 6 November 2011...from as little as ZAR100/GB£10/EU€10/US$10, it's all welcomed!
Thanking you in advance,
Varsity Kudus AC
