Update 7/9/12 - Team Hannah turned in an oustanding performance, surviving the Mad Marathon (and following celebration!) in great style. Finishes will be posted at www.madmarathon.com soon. As for all of our supporters, your generosity has been amazing, humbling, and so gratifying. We are in awe. Thank you!
Update - 7/7/12, 1 day to go before our runners take off in the Mad Marathon, one of the world's hardest long distance races (ask anyone who has participated!). Thanks to our incredible supporters, we met our goal of raising $20,000 and we are now working on expenses! Every donation will help immensely - it is not too late to join the Run for the Fund!
Thank you for considering sponsoring a Mad Marathon Runner by donating to Hannah’s House. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit located in the Mad River Valley dedicated to the cause of supporting the emotional well being of individuals and their families.
Hannah’s House was founded by the Bedford and Carr families to honor Hannah Bedford who grew up in the Mad River Valley, home to the Mad Marathon. Hannah was an athlete, artist, musician, equestrian, avid skier, painter, runner, massage therapist, daughter, sister, aunt and sufferer of emotional disorders. As a family we found there were very little resources for Hannah in the state of VT.
Hannah’s House officially began in July 2010 when we sponsored a therapist specializing in children, adolescents and families. Nicole has developed a full practice and we recently recruited a second therapist with years of experience as a counselor, educator and consultant. Our services include financial assistance for therapy for families in need, subsidy for a variety of therapeutic services, educational programs for families, and we have recently added neurofeedback training.
Because we are a non-profit, all of our funds depend on generous people like you and grants. Hannah’s House has made amazing strides in the past year but we have some hefty goals for 2012 which include:
Neurofeedback training for ADHD, & anxiety disorders
Flood relief therapy for victims of Irene
Educational community workshops for families
Subsidizing Therapy for Individuals as well as families
Sponsoring therapists to support our community
Thank you for your support!
