BENEFITING: The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
ORGANIZER: The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
Thank you for visiting my page. On September 6, 2014, I will be joining Team Hasbro and running in the Bandit 5K to benefit The Hole the Wall Gang Camp.
What is The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp? It is a camp that was founded by Paul Newman in 1988 with the simple mission that every child, no matter their illness, could experience the transformational spirit and friendships that go hand in hand with camp. The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is dedicated to providing “a different kind of healing” to seriously ill children and their families throughout the Northeast, free of charge. It’s a community that celebrates the fun, friendship and spirit of childhood where every kid can “raise a little hell.”
As many of you know, I have never participated in a 5K before but am dedicated to this being my first one completed. While training has not been easy, I continue to remind myself why I am doing this. So Hole in the Wall can continue to help children who might not otherwise experience camp because of serious illness. These children battle everyday and the least I can do is step outside my comfort zone and push myself to run this 5K for them as many of them cannot run it themselves.
I have been fortunate enough to see the incredible work that Hole in the Wall Gang Camp does for these kids and I encourage you to visit http://www.youtube.com/user/THITWGCamp to watch a video on the camp - it's a little long but really worth it (especially the last 2 minutes). Or simply visit the camp's web site at www.holeinthewallgang.org for more information.
I hope you will consider sponsoring me and my running of this 5K to help The Hole in Wall Gang Camp. It costs $2500 to send one child to camp so every little bit helps. And if you cannot sponsor me, I completely understand and just hope I was able to make you aware of the amazing work Hole in the Wall does for children.
Thank you so much!
Lots of Love!
