HUNTINGTONS DISEASE SOCIETY OF AMERICA INC wrote -
Thank you for visiting my page. For those of you that know me, you know how tragically Huntington's Disease has affected our family. We lost my husband, Skip at the age of 40 to HD. He began showing symptoms in his early 30's. Stephany, our 21 year old daugher is at risk, having a 50 percent chance of inheriting this deadly gene. I have been part of HDSA since 1998, involved in fundraising for research and advocacy. I am on the HDSA-OC board, and have taken on the role of being the team coordinator for our runners in the OC Marathon.
My heart has been truly touched by these individuals who are willing to put in the training and effort to come along side families affected by HD, helping to raise funds and awareness. Each time our runners ask for someone to sponsor them, they are educating that person about what Huntintington's Disease is.
Even though I am not personally running in this marathon, since I will be busy coordinating on event day and making sure our water station at Mile 19 is staffed and ready to go, I still want to fundraise for this great cause. A donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated.
Please help us in our efforts to end HD and provide help for those who suffer from it. To learn more about Huntington's Disease and our Orange County Chapter, please click HERE.
