In 2014 I was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer, I was shocked because I felt I was in the best condition of my entire life, I went through two major surgeries in which I had tumors removed from my Bladder and finally a Radical Cystectomy with Neo Bladder replacement, My recovery has gone exceptionally well and I am thanking God and so very grateful for a second chance at life. When I was first diagnosed I thought my passion for Running, Cycling, Hiking, Working out and Strength training was over but far from it, I have beat Cancer and been declared Cancer free, I feel that God has performed a miracle for me and I am now stronger and better than ever. I am honored to be a part of the Team Hole in the Wall Gang Camp and privileged to be running the 2015 Boston Marathon with them and for this great opportunity to give hope, encouragement and help bring a smile to the face of a child that is battling with a serious and life threatenng illness.
The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp founded by the Actor Paul Newman are committed to helping provide a fun, safe and healthy camping environment for many children that have serious illnesses such as Metabolic disorders, Cancers, Sickle Cell anemia and Orphan illnesses. With unobtrusive expert medical care, it was Paul's dream that camp would provide seriously ill children with a fun-filled experience defined by compassion, laughter and acceptance.
My goal is to raise $10,000.00 and I thank you in advance for your generous donation to this worthy cause and for being a part of this journey with me.
There is an anonymous quote that reads: "One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of house I lived in, what kind of car I drove, how much I had in my bank account, nor what my cloths looked like; but the world may be a little better because I was important in the life of a child".
By joining me you are taking a journey with me that is of extreme importance in the life of a child with a serious and life threatening illness; the child, the family, friends and the world will be greatly blessed as a result of your involvement and commitment to help make their lives a little better. You will never regret bringing a smile to a child's face and giving them a little more hope as they battle with their illness.
