Welcome to my 2013 Online Donor Drive page!
As many of you know, I am a mentor to a New York City high school student through iMentor. iMentor provides students in low-income communities with mentors who are dedicated to helping them succeed in college and beyond.
I’ve had the great opportunity to be matched with Miguel Ramos for the past 6 months. Miguel is a junior at Hyde who loves video games, film class, and candy. It has been amazing getting to know him and I am proud to have this opportunity to let you into my world as a mentor. This year, Miguel and I have been working on finding a summer internship and learning about different scholarship and financial aid opportunities for college.
Miguel's goal is to go to college and find a career in the video game industry. I have watched as his focus and ambition have grown during out time as a pair. It's been incredibly rewarding for me to watch this talented young man grow both personally and processionally and to know that I've played a part.
Help iMentor by supporting my page today. Every contribution will help support more mentor-mentee pairs like Miguel and me.
Join iMentor’s Online Donor Drive
The iMentor Online Donor Drive team is a dedicated group of mentors and supporters who join forces to fundraise for iMentor. The proceeds of this annual campaign help fund thousands of mentoring relationships that are empowering students in low-income communities to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions. During the campaign, our mentors create individual fundraising pages and ask their friends, family, and coworkers to give to this cause that means so much to them.
Get involved by making a page or donating today. It costs $1,000 a year to support a pair and ensure they have access to quality programming and resources. So whether you contribute $10 or $1,000, your involvement makes you part of a network of individuals who are making a lasting investment in the life of a high school student.
iMentor builds mentoring relationships that empower students in low-income communities to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions.
Students and mentors work one-on-one through iMentor’s online and in-person curriculum to navigate the college application process and build critical skills linked to college success. In New York City, iMentor partners with public schools to ensure every student in the school receives a mentor.
Since 1999, iMentor has connected 11,000 students in New York City with mentors, and will match more than 2,400 mentor-mentee pairs this year. iMentor also provides its curriculum, technology, and best practices to nonprofits nationwide to help them run effective mentoring programs in the iMentor model. iMentor has been recognized through funding by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Lumina Foundation, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, and the Robin Hood Foundation, and is a subgrantee of the federal Social Innovation Fund.
