BENEFITING: Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
ORGANIZER: Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
On November 3rd I will get another chance to run the New York City Marathon with Team IBDkids on behalf of The Children’s IBD Center at Mount Sinai Hospital. This cause is very important to our family because our 12-year old son Harris was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease almost two years ago.
Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis, the two illnesses known as inflammatory bowel disease, or IBD, are chronic, often debilitating conditions that cause swelling, inflammation and pain in the digestive tract. In children, IBD can impair growth and development. Its causes are only partially understood and there is no known cure.
The proceeds raised by Team IBDkids will be used to fund research into pediatric IBD and for increased education, care and patient services, allowing children to lead normal, productive lives. Please visit www.ibdkids.org to learn more. Thank you so much for your support.
