Mileage Tracker: 200
I'm honored to be running the NYC marathon in support of Camp Interactive, an organization that empowers inner-city youth through the inspiration of the outdoors and the creative power of technology -- it's an organization that I very much believe in. But I need your help. By donating, you'll be giving bright young adults the opportunity of their lifetime.
These 26.2 miles go to an incredible 12-year-old named Sarah. Through Camp Interactive, she's learned how to build websites (for those of you that are constantly recruiting developers) and she has opportunity to get out of her neighborhood for activities like a week-long camping trip to learn leadership skills. I don't know about you, but I've been incredibly fortunate. I've been given so many opportunities to express my creativity and to be empowered by outdoor activities. I really want these deserving young adults to have these opportunities (this is the hardest I've trained since my 75-miles-a-week college days -- see my 14000+ fuel score in that picture?) -- and I need your help to make it happen.
Anything helps but...
$100 buys you homemade cupcakes, cake, banana bread, or granola (or some pizza from the corner store if you lack faith in my baking skills).
$300 buys race-day wardrobe real estate. Want your face on my sleeve? Done.
$500 buys you a personal coach (me!) for your next race of any distance. I'll make you a customized race plan, I'll be at your apartment door at 6 am to force you to run, I'll let you borrow my foam roller, and time your workouts.
