BENEFITING: OKLAHOMA CITY NATIONAL MEMORIAL FOUNDATION
EVENT: Oklahoma City Marathon 2013
EVENT DATE: Apr 28, 2013
At Team Jett, we are about overcoming obstacles and staying positive and keeping a "nothing is going to beat us" attitude. Personally, living with this attitude has kept me alive. In Sept of 2001, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma after losing my only sister to Breast Cancer at the age of 33 only a few years earlier. With God's help, a lot of prayer, eight rounds of Chemo, 16 Radiations, and a can do attitude, I overcame it. In Sept of 2011, I was diagnosed with Heart Disease with a 90% blockage in my Left Anterior Decending Aorta. I received a stint and decided I was not going to be another statistic. I got serious about my diet, started walking / jogging and a year and a half later am running in the OKC Memorial Marathon. I'm only running the half Marathon this year even though I've made 20 miles so far, but I plan on running the full 26.2 next year!
